Joshua H. Robinson Jr., known as Josh to his brother firefighters, was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 13, 1924 to Joshua and Dora Robinson.
The 1947 Camden City Directory shows Josh Robinson living with his parents at 1834 Kossuth Street in the Centerville section of Camden.
Josh Robinson was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on December 30, 1950 and reported for duty the following day.
Josh Robinson was serving with Ladder Company 2 at 619 Kaighn Avenue in the late 1960s. He was permanently disabled in a serious car accident while off duty on vacation in 1968. Josh was paralyzed from the waist down after his car overturned on the Interstate down in the Carolinas. He had served the City of Camden for more than eighteen years on the Department at the time of his retirement.
Fire Department records show his address as 1240 Magnolia Avenue in Parkside.
Joshua H. Robinson died on March 6, 1988.
37 Camden Men Pass Tests for City Firemen

Thirty-seven candidates have passed the Civil Service test for fireman in the Camden City fire department. Thirty-two of those who qualified are former service men and three of them, disabled veterans, were placed at the top of the list under the preference given by law.
Joseph T. Hackett, of 158 Branch Village, is listed first, Owen D. Gale, 320 Marlton avenue, second and August L. Johnson, 916½ Chestnut street, third.
The salary on Jan. 1 will begin at $2400 and reach a maximum of $3160 after four years.
