Introduction
JOHN F. CHUDZINSKI was born in Camden, New Jersey on December 23, 1921 to Stanislaus and Pelagia Chudzinski. He was the youngest of fourteen children. Sadly, his father passed away before John Chudzinski’s 9th birthday. Fortunately for the family, Stanislaus Chudzinski had purchased a home at 1247 Atlantic Avenue at some point between September of 1918 and January of 1920, and the family was still living there as late as 1947, when Mrs. Chudzinski died.
The 1940 and 1943 Camden City Directories gives an address of 1218½ Atlantic Avenue for John F. Chudzinski, and states that he was then serving in the United States Army.
John Chudzinski was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on December 30, 1950 and reported for duty the next day. His older brother Leon Chudzinski was already with the Department by 1947.
John F. Chudzinski left the department December 15, 1969.
John Chudzinski passed away on July 2, 1990.
37 Camden Men Pass Tests for City Firemen

Thirty-seven candidates have passed the Civil Service test for fireman in the Camden City fire department. Thirty-two of those who qualified are former service men and three of them, disabled veterans, were placed at the top of the list under the preference given by law.
Joseph T. Hackett, of 158 Branch Village, is listed first, Owen D. Gale, 320 Marlton avenue, second and August L. Johnson, 916½ Chestnut street, third. The salary on Jan. 1 will begin at $2400 and reach a maximum of $3160 after four years.
