HORACE B. BEIDEMAN was born in Stockton Township NJ in 1878 to Thomas and Josephine Beideman. Thomas Beideman was a farmer, but he had retired from farming at the age of 49. Stockton Township, which then consisted of what is commonly known as East Camden and Cramer Hill, merged with Camden in 1899.
On February 19, 1903 Horace Beideman married his wife Beatrice at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Camden.
At the time of the 1920 Census Horace Beideman owned a home at 3404 River Road in Camden’s Cramer Hill neighborhood, where he lived with his wife Beatrice, and daughter, also named Beatrice. His mother, Josephine Beideman, lived next door, at 3520 River Road. He was then an officer in a shipyard. By 1928 Horace B. Beideman was working as the City Transportation Inspector for Camden. The Beideman family was still living at 3404 River Road at the time of the 1930 Census. Horace Beideman also involved himself in real estate.
Horace Beideman had passed away by the time the 1947 Camden City Directory was compiled. His widow Beatrice was operating an insurance agency out of the home at that time.
11th Ward G.O.P. Club Completes Ball Plans

Arrangements were completed today for the annual ball of the Eleventh Ward Republican Club, to be held tomorrow night at Maennerchor Hall, 831 Twenty-Seventh Street. Proceeds from the ball, according to Horace Beideman, Republican county committeeman of the Ward, will be added to the building fund.
The ball committee includes Edward Dawes, Chairman; William C. Stutzel, Edward Orchard, Edward Stils, Harry Schlam, Lawrence Newton and C.W. Anderson. Officers are Edward F. Peard, president; Lewis Molineaux, Vice-president; William C. Stutzel, recording secretary, and Harry L. Wert, treasurer.
Beideman Marks 25th Anniversary

HORACE B. BEIDEMAN
Horace B. Beideman, city transportation supervisor, and Mrs. Beatrice E. Beideman, today marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of their wedding at their home, 3404 River avenue.
The couple was married February 18, 1903, by Rev. J. Roderick at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fourth and Market streets. They have one daughter, Miss Beatrice W. Beideman, 14 years old. Two other children died.
Beideman is a county committeeman of the Eleventh Ward. Mrs. Beideman is vice president of the Eleventh Ward Women’s Republican Club.
11th Ward G.O.P. Club to Discuss Boulevard

11TH WARD G.O.P. CLUB TO DISCUSS BOULEVARD
A meeting of the Eleventh Ward Republican Club has been called for tonight to discuss the city’s plans for the northeast boulevard to connect with the proposed Linden street bridge over Cooper river. Edward Peard, president of the club, will preside.
Freeholder Howard Firth and Horace Beideman, named by the club to consult with city officials on a plan for the extension of the boulevard to Pierce avenue, will speak. The boulevard is to extend from Eleventh and Linden streets to River avenue and East State street.
Bus Driver’s License Is Revoked by City

BUS DRIVER’S LICENSE IS REVOKED BY CITY
Failure to turn in his badge ordered by Horace B. Beideman, transportation supervisor, resulted in the revocation of the Camden license of Earl Kennedy, who operates on the McLaughlin line between Camden and Gibbsboro.
Kennedy was suspended early this week after ignoring repeated warnings against leaving his bus unattended at the Market street side of the Pennsylvania Railroad ferry terminus. Beideman ordered Kennedy to surrender his bus driver’s badge until his suspension was lifted. This Kennedy refused to do, and the transportation supervisor ordered the busman’s Camden license revoked today.
With his Camden license revoked, Beideman said, Kennedy can operate local buses entering Camden.

The Alpha Community Baptist Church, of Camden, was the scene of the marriage of Miss Beatrice W. Beideman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace B. Beideman, of Camden, became the bride of John P. Mays, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mays, of Garfield avenue, Palmyra, recently. The Rev. Mr. Hall, officiated. Mrs. Nelson Randolph, of Palmyra, was matron of honor for the bride and Melvin R. Mays, Jr., acted as best man for his brother. A reception was held at the Walt Whitman Hotel, Camden, after which the couple left for a brief wedding trip. They are now at home at 34th and River Road, Camden.
Westfield Club Backs G.O.P. Committeemen

The Westfield Avenue Men’s Republican Club has endorsed Horace B. Beideman and Mrs. Etta C. Pfrommer for re-election to the Camden County Republican Committee at the May 17 primary.
The club met at its headquarters, Thirty-ninth Street and Westfield Avenue, Wednesday night. Raymond Burdsall, presided. Beideman and Mrs. Pfrommer have been Eleventh Ward representatives on the county committee.

Haines and Reinert Head G.O.P.; Madden To Lead Democrats
Baird and Mrs. Verga Decline Posts During Spirited Committee Session
Joshua C. Haines, Camden county register of deeds, was elected chairman of the Camden County Republican Committee at its reorganization last night in one of the most spirited contests held within the Organization in a decade.
Mrs. Isabella C. Reinert, of Collingswood, nominee for Assembly, was elected vice chairman.
Haines succeeds Walter S. Keown and Mrs. Reinert takes the post held by Mrs. Elizabeth C. Verga.
Their election came at 11.30 p. m., after more than three hours of heated argument behind closed doors, and after former U.S. Senator David Baird and Mrs. Verga had declined to accept the offices.
Others nominated were Keown and Camden City Commissioner Frank B. Hanna, for chairman, and Mrs. Etta C. Pfrommer, of the Eleventh Ward. Mrs. Pfrommer twice declined.
Other officers were re-elected as follows: Howard B. Dyer, secretary; William D. Sayrs, Jr., treasurer, and Mrs. Lottie B. Stinson, assistant secretary. Mrs. Anna G. Holl, of Collingswood, was elected assistant treasurer to succeed Mrs. Reinert.
Then Mrs. Margaret Wermuth, of Delaware township, and Carlton M. “Cy” Harris, of the Twelfth Ward, presented a petition signed by virtually all the committee, asking Baird and Mrs. Verga to accept the chairmanship and vice chairmanship.
Baird then declared that he was unable to take over any additional work. “I must not be chosen, but must work with and for you, and I ask that you respect my wishes.” He then proposed that Haines and Mrs. Reinert be chosen unanimously.
Despite his proposal, Mrs. Wermuth moved the election of Baird and Mrs. Verga. The vote was virtually unanimous. Immediately J. C. Remington, Jr., of Haddonfield, moved to adjourn. The chair refused to recognize the motion.
Several members threatened to resign from the committee unless Baird and Mrs. Verga accepted. To this Baird answered: “I’m still fighting for the party, no matter who quits. If you quit, you’re not worthy to be members.” His remarks were greeted with applause.
The committee elected the following solicitors: Carl Kisselman, Edward R. Deibert, L. Scott Cherchesky, William E.A. King, J. Claud Simon, T. Phillips Brown, J. H. Reiners, Jr., Rocco Palese and Morris Praissman.

Women’s Club Backs Republican Candidates

The Eleventh Ward Women’s Republican Club, meeting at the headquarters, Twenty-eighth and Concord streets, has endorsed the Republican candidates for election, according to announcement of Emily Remally, secretary of the organization. Mrs. M. Martin is president of the club.
The candidates are: State Senator Albert E. Burling; Assembly, Edwin Scovel, Henry M. Evans, J. Claud Simon; Sheriff, Joseph H. Van Meter; county clerk, Dr. Leslie H. Ewing; register of deeds, Joshua C. Haines; county committeeman, Horace B. Beideman; county committeewoman, Etta C. Pfrommer; justice of the peace, William Banks, and William Young.

Sir—I have been a voter and resident of the Eleventh ward for the last 20 years. I have never bothered in politics concerning either party. But this time I am, and I don’t mean maybe. I am going to bat for Horace Beideman. He is a good scout.
It seems Mr. Raymond Price wants everything. At present he is school janitor and freeholder. Now I just came across an article in the Morning Post indicating he wants to become ward leader. We have plenty of good men in the Eleventh ward out of employment. Why doesn’t Mr. Price resign one of his positions and let others live. So on September 17th let us all put an end to a certain clique that wants to control everything.
Elect Horace Beideman our 1935 ward leader and Mrs. Etta Pfrommer our ward lady.
