Morgan Boulevard is often confused with Morgan Street, with which it intersects. It originally just ran south, from the intersection of Ninth and Morgan Streets across Hunter and Olive Streets and the Newton Creek, where it intersects with Yorkship Road and Tuckahoe Road. In later years it was extended to Fairview Street, which was likewise extended to Mount Ephraim Avenue.

On land that had once been a sweet potato farm, a school in 1969 named Morgan Village Middle School opened its doors. Mr. Koppenhaver, the first principal greeted the new middle school students of South Camden to a unique three curricular design building located amid green grass, trees, and shrubberies.
The address of this new school would be Morgan Boulevard and Fairview Street, Camden, New Jersey. Just as the lustering landscape surrounding the school grew, so did its students and staff.

Charles Hance Sr., 72, of 2537 Morgan boulevard, died in Cooper hospital of a heart attack Saturday night. He was active in sports for many years.
He had lived in the Fairview section of Camden for 21 years and for the last 15 years he umpired virtually all of the sandlot baseball games in Fairview and Morgan Village, and was affectionately known to the youth as “Pop.” In his young days he was a baseball player.
Mr. Hance, a native of Philadelphia; was a retired marble mason. He had been caretaker of the home of Fairview post 71, American Legion, at Collings road and Mt. Ephraim avenue. He had managed and trained a number of boxers in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia.
Surviving are his widow, Jennie; two sons, George, Camden, and Charles Jr., a Camden motorcycle policeman; a stepson, George D. Moore; three daughters, Miss Sophie Hance, Mrs. Isabella Parsons and Mrs. Anna Sulzman, and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1.30 p. m. in a funeral home at 1530 Collings road where friends may call Tuesday night. Burial will be in New Camden cemetery.
