Nineteenth Street runs from the Pavonia railroad switching yards across River Avenue north to Harrison Avenue in what was originally called the Pavonia section of what is now considered Cramer Hill. All addresses here are North 19th Street. There is also a short one-block section of Nineteenth Street in East Camden that runs south from Federal Street to Carman Street. There are no addresses on this street. The street had already been laid out by the time the 1887–1888 Camden City Directory was published.

Mrs. Effie E. Horst, resident of Camden for 25 years died Wednesday at her home, 1240 North Nineteenth street, following a short illness.
Mrs. Horst is survived by her husband, Harry W. Horst; two sons, Albert of Collingswood and Leroy of Camden; three daughters, Florence, Mrs. Mabel White of New York and Mrs. Nettie Furman of Philadelphia; also three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., tomorrow at 8 West Kings Highway, Haddonfield. Rev. Donald Irwin, pastor of the Haddonfield Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Locustwood Memorial Park.

Police Look for Missing Persons

Police were asked yesterday to assist in locating Elizabeth Titette, 16 years old, of 922 South Sixty-eighth street, Philadelphia, who disappeared from her home about a week ago. Her father stated that he believes she was taken away by two men. He believes she is in Camden.
Robert Briley, 15 years old, of 1225 N. Nineteenth street, East Side, Camden, was also reported to the police as missing. He has been gone several days. When last seen by relatives he wore a dark coat, yellow trousers and brown cap.
Firemen’s Auto Injures

A Camden city fireman’s automobile figured in two successive accidents that injured four persons last night. The fireman is John C. Voll, 33, of 1230 North Nineteenth street, attached to Engine Company Number 9, Twenty-seventh and Federal streets. Voll was treated at Cooper Hospital for severe cuts on the face and mouth.
His machine collided at Eighteenth Street and River Road about 11 p.m. with the car of Steve Liperi, 23, of 408 West Third Street, Palmyra, injuring Liperi’s mother-in-law.
Liperi told police Voll’s car came at him in a zig-zag manner a block until it struck a pole at Seventeenth Street and River Road, went on the sidewalk and struck two women. One of these, Mrs. Lydia Ramsey, 32, of 2108 Howell Street, was treated at Cooper Hospital for severe cuts on the leg. The other, Miss Pauline Comfort, 22, of 1238 Liberty Street, was treated at West Jersey Homeopathic Hospital for severe bruises.
Liperi and his wife, Grace, 19, were unhurt, but her mother, Mrs. Mary Mancuso, 45, of 885 Velde Avenue, Delair, suffered cuts and bruises. No charges were made by either driver.

Otto Engler, 66, Dies; City Resident 31 Yrs.

Otto Engler, 66, of 1110 North Nineteenth street, died today after a long illness. He was a resident of East Camden 31 years.
Mr. Engler is survived by his widow, Emma; two sons, Otto Jr., Camden, and John C., Haddonfield; a daughter, Mrs. Eleonor Jackson, Pennsauken township; a brother, Jules, Gloucester City, and three grandchildren.
Services will be held in the funeral home of G. Roedel & Son, 804 North Twenty-seventh street, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Friends may call there Monday night. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery.

Camden New Jersey Fire Department had a busy night as the Little Devils came out on Halloween Eve. The evening started out at 7:07 p.m. with a working house fire at 1042 North 19th Street in the Cramer Hill Section of the city. All hands went to work and had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
Corporal John J. Gorman served in World War II. He grew up at 1040 North 19th Street with his parents, John A. and Mary Gorman, and brother Paul.

Foreman for 32 Years Dies at Spinning Mill

Robert Gess, 63, of 920 North Nineteenth street, became ill and died today at the plant of Howland Croft Sons & Co., spinners, Broadway and Jefferson street, where he was employed as a foreman for the last 32 years.
Dr. R. Dean Cavalli, county physician, who was summoned to the plant by police, said Gess probably died of a heart attack. He ordered the body taken to West Jersey hospital.
