Pneumonia in Camden Claims More Lives
Philadelphia Inquirer –
Mother and New-Born Infant Succumb, Son Seriously Ill — Vaccination to Prevent Smallpox
Pneumonia continues to result in many deaths in Camden. Among those who died yesterday was Mrs. Joseph Schlitz, 37 years old, of 2731 Concord avenue, within an hour after a baby girl was born to her at Cooper Hospital. Shortly afterward the infant died and about the same time her 12-year-old son William was admitted to the institution seriously ill, with pneumonia.
In the same hospital Mrs. Margaret Hunt, of 403 Chambers avenue, died from pneumonia, while her sister, Mrs. William Bitting, with whom she lived, was in an adjoining ward critically ill with the disease.
