Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Charles H. Valentine, 67, for 42 years an engineer on Pennsylvania Railroad ferryboats, who died Saturday after a long illness. Services will take place at the home, 319 North Thirty-eighth street and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Valentine is survived by his widow, Martha A. Valentine, and three sons. He was a member of Camp No. 25 P. O. S. of A., and Camp No. 51, P. O. of A.
Man Hurt in Car-Bus Crash

When a bus and automobile collided headon at 9 p. m., Saturday, at Eighth street and Kaighn avenue, George W. Garner, 30, a city fireman, of 410 Rand street, driver of the automobile, suffered a fractured left arm and cuts about the face. The bus was driven by J. S. Harrison, 43, of 311 Northy [sic] Thirty-eighth street. Garner was treated at West Jersey Homeopathic Hospital.

Nicholas Donahue, the popular restaurant keeper of Twenty-fourth and Federal streets, has been elected a member of the Board of Trade.
Harry Lake, of 950 North Twenty-seventh street, is still confined to his home, and is reported as seriously ill.
Ezra Wallace, of Thirty-eighth street and Westfield avenue, is confined to his home on account of sickness.
The Third District police yesterday at roll call donned their new winter helmets.
James N. Lloyd, of 2831 Concord avenue, is reported as being in a serious condition from pneumonia. Mr. Lloyd has been confined to his home now about five weeks.

In a fall on the deck of a tugboat, George F. Moore, 27 years old, of 1484 Princess avenue, slipped on a piece of ice, fell and broke his leg. He was taken to Cooper Hospital.
Miss Eveline Pratley, 23 years old, of 221 North Thirty-eighth street, received three mangled fingers in a machine at a plant at Thirty-eighth street and Westfield avenue. She was treated at Cooper Hospital.
With a capital of $100,000, the Jackson Oil Company was incorporated yesterday, the incorporators being Randolph Cooper, William R. Stewart and Norman Nicholson.
Eleanor Miller, 6 years old, of 712 South Eighth street, was taken to Cooper Hospital yesterday with a double fracture of the right arm, the result of a fall downstairs.

Two Negroes Arrested for Murder in Camden

Bullet Through Heart Killed Hageney—Pockets Looted, But Assailant Missed Gold Watch
That the highwayman who murdered Francis Martin Hagency [sic] at Twenty-seventh street and Marlton ave., on Thursday night, is the same one who shot and killed Rev. T. M. L. Childrey on the White Horse pike five weeks ago, is the belief of the Camden police. The cobined [sic] force of city and county detectives are at work on the case, and thus far two suspects have been arrested, an armed negro and a colored woman being taken into custody yesterday. The prisoners are Henry Thomas, aged 23 years, and “Brownie” Jones, aged 20 years. They were arrested at 636 Locust street by Detectives Moffet and Murray, following receipt of word that they had quarreled and that the man had threatened to kill the woman. Thomas carried a loaded pistol, a blackjack and a box of cartridges. They deny any knowledge of the crime.
The police claim that six persons who were recently held up in various sections of the city, yesterday identified the negro as their assailant.
The slain man was 33 years old and lived at 418 Reed street, Philadelphia. He was murdered and robbed while walking along a lonely section of Twenty-seventh street from Pensauken township, where he had spent the evening with Thomas Martin. He formerly lived in what is known as the Highland section, moving to Philadelphia three years ago after the death of his wife. He was employed at the Washington street wharf as a munition checker for the British Government.
The robber used but one bullet to murder his victim. The shot struck him in the breast just over the heart, and severed an artery leading to that organ. A post-mortem examination was made by County Physician Stem and Coroner Pratt, and although they probed for an hour, they were unable to locate the bullet. The slain man’s brother, John Hageney, of 1240 South American street, Philadelphia, claimed the body, which will be buried on Monday at Calvary Cemetery.
Hageney’s lifeless body was found by John A. Wenderoth, of 2305 Mickle street, and George O. Prince, of 212 North Thirty-eighth street, while driving along Twenty-seventh street in an automobile. The head light of the car revealed the prostrate form on the side of the road. The dead man lay on his face, and the pockets of his trousers had been turned inside out. One cent lay on the ground near the body, and the slain man’s straw hat was six feet away. There was no money left in the clothing, but in his haste, the murderer overlooked a lady’s watch which Hageney carried in the small pocket of his trousers. It belonged to his dead wife.
