Francis X. McTaggart
FRANCIS X. McTAGGART was born in Philadelphia on September 15, 1919, the son of James P. and Josephine McTaggart of Waldorf Avenue in Camden. He was appointed to the Camden Division of Fire on August 31, 1953, reporting for duty September 1, 1953, with Badge No. 138. He served as a fireman assigned to Engine Company 2 at fire department headquarters. He retired on pension January 1, 1979, and passed away January 3, 1998.

James McTaggart, Policeman, Dies
Policeman James McTaggart, 54, of 3135 Waldorf avenue, died yesterday in West Jersey hospital, where he was taken Feb. 6 for an operation.
He was a brother of the late Policeman John McTaggart, who worked a beat on Broadway from Pine street to Kaighn avenue and who annually conducted the “Night in Ireland.”
James McTaggart, a veteran of War I, was appointed to the police force March 18, 1927. For a time he served in the mounted squad. At the time of his death and for about 12 years he had been assigned to the Third police district in East Camden.
Surviving are his widow, Josephine; three sons, John, Camden, and Joseph and Francis, both at home, and a brother, Hugh, an employe of the Camden city highway department; two sisters, Miss Mary and Esther McTaggart, both of Camden, and his mother, Mrs. Mary McTaggart, of Camden.

More than 40 members of the Camden Fire Department have completed the Red Cross course in advanced first aid according to announcement today by Howard F. Keller, Collingswood, chairman of the Camden County Chapter’s first aid committee.
Instruction sessions were under the direction of Fire Chief William V. Pfefferle, Drillmaster Anthony Dzinski, a member of the local chapter first aid group, assisted by Nicholas E. George, were instructors. Dzinski is a member of the Red Cross faculty at the National Aquatic School held in this area each year for instruction in advance safety techniques. Dick Harris, director of Red Cross safety services, supervised.
All members of the graduating class are personnel of several units housed at fire department headquarters here. These include the Headquarters Company, Engine Company 2, Rescue Squad 1 and truck company 1. these groups include:
Rescue Squad: Captains Arthur Batten, Philip A. Stinger and albert weller; Edward Brendlinger, harrison macneir, Robert Olesiewicz and james w. smith.
Headquarters Company: raymond banford, John K. Voll and john w. yates.
