Introduction
Irvin K. Lederman was born in Pennsylvania around 1895 to Philip and Rosa Lederman. He was one of 10 children. The 1910 Census shows the elder Lederman working as an inspector in a clothing factory.
Irwin K. Ledererman was a veteran of World War I. He was living at 46 Boyd Street and working as a foreman when the 1924 Camden City Directory was compiled. By 1927 he had been appointed to the Camden Fire department and was still residing at 46 Boyd Street.
The 1930 Census shows Irvin K. Lederman, his wife Elizabeth and niece Elizabeth Tartar living at 44 Boyd Street. He was still an active member of the Camden Fire Department as late as December of 1930.
Irvin Lederman died on October 18, 1933. At that time he had been living at 35 Boyd Street. He was buried at Bethel Cemetery in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Firemen Prepare Toys for Poor Children

If there is to be a cheerless and toyless Christmas anywhere among the poor, it will not be in the easterly section of the city. That is, not if the firemen of East Camden’s two firehouses and business men know anything about it. For many weeks now, the smoke-eaters from the fire stations at Twenty-seventh and Federal streets and Twenty-seventh street and Hayes avenue, in co-operation with the store-keepers, have been collecting toys, which have been tossed aside by more fortunate children, and have been reconditioning them, so that those who gave them up as “junk” could not now tell them from new playthings. In the two photos above it can easily be seen that the fire-fighting Santas are determined to make many children happy on Christmas Day. In the upper picture, Firemen William Foehl (holding sled) and Charles Schultz are shown at work on some of the broken toys. In the lower photo, Firemen Newton Ash, left, and Irvin Leaderman, have just finished piling up a part of the completed gifts. The toys will be distributed the day before Christmas to children who write to “Santa Claus” at his headquarters at the Federal street firehouse.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday for Irvin Lederman, 37, of 35 Boyd Street, who died Wednesday
Lederman was a member of Hose and Chemical Company No. 2, Twenty-seventh Street and Hayes Avenue. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth K.
Lederman was a member of the Police and Firemen’s Club and the Mutual Benevolent Association. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery
