South Merrimac Road, in Camden's Fairview neighborhood, is split into three sections. The first section, which consists of the 1000 and 1199 blocks, running from Collings Road and West Ironsides Road, until it ends at Tennessee Road, was originally named New Merrimac Road, and is covered on its own page. The second section runs from New Jersey Road in an eastward direction to New Hampshire Road, and consists of the 1200 and 1300 blocks. The third section runs from Collings Road to Alabama Road, and has four residences and the Catholic church rectory on it. South Merrimac Road becomes Independence Road once it crosses Alabama Road.
