CAPTAIN JOHN S. TWITCHELL
was born in 1918 to Oscar and Hazel E Twitchell. The oldest of two boys,
he grew up in Haddonfield NJ, where his parents owned a home at 120
Jefferson Avenue. His father was a sales agent. On the next block lived
a lawyer's son, James
Baxter; Charles
Armstrong and James Baker
lived nearby on Mountwell Avenue and Chews Landing Road, respectively.
All would give their lives while serving in America's armed forces.
John S. Twitchell was
killed in action while serving with U.S. Army ground forces during World
War II. He was survived by his parents, and a brother, Robert J.
Twitchell.
