Ada Street

Camden Street

Introduction

Ada Street ran from Cherry Street south to Walnut Street, 1 block east of South 9th Street. There were no houses on Ada Street in the 1947 City Directory.

Ada Street does not appear in City Directories prior to 1890–1891, and does not appear in the 1924 City Directory. While there were houses on the 900 Block of Cherry Street as early as 1887, it is probable that Ada Street dated from the late 1890s or early 1900s, a time when other short streets in the vicinity were laid out.

By the early 1970s Ada Street was gone, obliterated when Interstate Highway I-676 was built through the heart of Camden.
