William P. Neale Jr., Camden Fire Department
William P. Neale Jr. was born in Camden, NJ on February 21, 1936, the son of William and Ethel Neale. He was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on January 15, 1963, assigned Badge No. 191, and reported for duty the following day. He was appointed in the same class as Fire Chief Edward R. MacDowell’s new recruits. By the late 1960s he had been promoted to fire inspector. He was pensioned on May 1, 1993, and died just six weeks later on June 15, 1993. He was survived by his wife Dorothy and lived in Cherry Hill, NJ at the time of his death.

Five new Camden firemen, who have completed three weeks of fire school training, will be presented graduation certificates Monday and assigned to companies, Fire Chief Edward R. MacDowell announced today.
They are Joseph A. Murray, of 2802 Harrison ave.; Thomas Stammerjohann, of 1302 Whitman ave.; Kirby Bates, of 303 Biedeman ave; William P. Neale Jr., of 3055 River rd., and John Brzozowski, of 2857 Idaho rd.
