Introduction
Patrick Michael Mulvihill was a well known bar owner in Camden around the time of World War I. He operated a bar known as the Broadway House at 1001 Broadway, the corner of Broadway & Walnut Street, for 15 years before moving to Oaklyn NJ, where operated Mulvihill’s Grill at 1204 White Horse Pike.
Patrick M. Mulvihill passed away on October 21, 1936, after taking sick in December of the previous year. He was buried in King of Prussia PA.

‘Polack Joe’ Deven Charged With Manslaughter in G.O.P. Club Slaying — ‘Mose Flannery’ Named
Sixty-nine indictments, that of Joseph “Polack Joe” Devon for manslaughter, were in charge of Judge Samuel M. Shay and presented to the court yesterday by the Camden county grand jury for December.
Devon was indicted in the death of Joseph Cimini, also known as Gannon, 31 years old, 1301 Ellsworth street, Philadelphia. Cimini was killed in the Sixth Ward Republican Club, 908 Broadway, on January 14. Devon was released under $2,500 bail.
The grand jurors will be dismissed next Tuesday, when the April grand jury is sworn in.
Another manslaughter indictment presented yesterday is that against George Fein, Waterford, as a result of an automobile accident on White Horse pike at Waterford, on July 10. Fein’s automobile ran and killed Anthony Dentino, of Waterford.
Joseph “Mose” Flannery, Eighth ward political worker, faces three indictments. He is charged with assault with intent to kill and atrocious assault and battery, carrying weapons unlawfully and attempted murder on December 27.
Gypsies Named
Flannery also is at liberty on bail as a material witness to the fatal shooting of Cimini by “Polack Joe” Devon.
Three gypsies, members of a band which was reported to have hypnotized Black Horse and White Horse pike residents out of money last November, were indicted for larceny and receiving stolen goods. They are Frances Gee, 1150 South Tenth street, Philadelphia, on complaint of Albert Bennett, 173 Potter street, Haddonfield; Mary Doe, Philadelphia, on complaint of Patrick Mulvihill, 12[?] White Horse pike, Oaklyn; and Mary Stevenson, Philadelphia, on complaint of Thomas P. Wilson, Blenheim.
George Zimmerman, 22[?] Mechanic street, faces trial on a charge of unlawful possession of explosives. He was arrested February 3 after he and a companion staggered into Cooper Hospital and blamed their injuries on the “phantom sniper.” It was later discovered by detectives that the men had been preparing nitroglycerin which exploded.
Patrick M. Mulvihill Dies at Oaklyn Home

Patrick Michael Mulvihill, 68, well known as a restaurant and saloon proprietor in Camden and Oaklyn, died yesterday at his home, 1204 White Horse pike, Oaklyn, after being ill since December. Mr. Mulvihill was the proprietor of Mulvihill’s Grill on White Horse pike in Oaklyn. Prior to opening the Oaklyn establishment, he conducted the Broadway House, at Broadway and Walnut street, Camden, for 15 years.
He was a member of Camden Chapter No. 8, Order of Hibernians, and Nest No. 107, Fraternal Order of Orioles.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Lewis Steelman, of Audubon; four sons, Michael J., Joseph, Francis D. and John V., and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Saturday at the residence. High requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a. m. at St. Aloysius Church, in Oaklyn. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, Montgomery county, Pa.
