J. E. Young Dies At Audubon; Was Furniture Buyer

Camden Courier-Post — November 12, 1951

Headline: J. E. Young Dies At Audubon; Was Furniture Buyer — John E. Young, widely known furniture buyer who was associated with Camden stores, died in his home, 225 Park place, Audubon, Sunday night.

Born in Trenton, he had resided in the Parkside section of Camden for seven years and in Audubon 25 years. For a year he was employed as general manager of the Joseph DiMona Co. store at 921 Broadway, prior to which he was assistant to the president of J. B. Liebman Co., Philadelphia.

Furniture Expert

For 27 years he was furniture buyer of the Hurley Store, Broadway and Pine street, and he was associated with the old Munger & Long department store, Broadway and Federal street, where the J. C. Penney Co. department store now is located.

Mr. Young was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Haddon Heights; the St. Francis Society of SS. Peter and Paul R. C. Church, the Camden Rotary club and the Camden Lodge of Moose, 111.

Funeral Thursday

Surviving are his widow, Alice A.; three daughters, Alice L., Joann K. and Marlene E., all at home; a son, Laurence F., Audubon; two sisters, Mrs. Mame Cody, Erlton, and Miss Helen Young, Pennsauken; and two grandchildren.

Solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a. m. in St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Haddon Heights. Relatives and friends will meet at 8:30 a. m. in the residence, 225 Park place, Audubon, where friends may call Wednesday night. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under the direction of Frank J. Leonard, Camden funeral director.
