Robert K. Pimm

PRIVATE ROBERT K. PIMM was born in 1924 to J. Vernon and Alma E. Pimm. The Pimms made their home at 281 Rhoads Avenue in Haddonfield NJ, where, in 1930, Vernon Pimm worked as an "incorporating secretary", he was in the 1940s associated with a bank in Philadelphia. Robert Pimm graduated from Camden County Vocational School in Pennsauken NJ, and was inducted into the United States Army in March of 1943.

Robert K. Pimm  was sent overseas in September of 1943, and was assigned to the 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He had written home before Christmas of 1943, those letters would prove to be the last his family would hear from him. Robert K. Pimm was reported as missing in action on February 18, 1944, just as his unit was being pulled off the lines for a refit. His body was recovered after the war had ended, and his status was changed to killed in action, as reported in the July 27, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post. Robert K. Pimm was 19 years old when he was killed in action.
