1167 and 1169 Sheridan Street - November 8, 2011
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department called Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey.
At approximately 10:10 PM on November 8, 2011 a vacant two-story middle of the row house at 1167 Sheridan Street was reported to be on fire. This building and three adjacent homes had been abandoned, and been occupied by squatters. Squad 7 arrived first on scene to find heavy fire from the second floor, with exposure problems. All hands were placed in service, and the fire was quickly brought under control. One Camden firefighter was slightly injured. Both 1167 and 1169 Sheridan Street were badly damaged by this fire, and most likely should be demolished.
Many thanks to Dom Patricelli, who got to the scene first and has provided many photos from the early minutes of the operation. Driving in from Pennsauken, I arrived on scene at 10:15 PM, just after the fire had been knocked down. I have attempted to present the photographs in the chronological order in which they were taken,
As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please comment at the bottom of the page. (I'm terrible at names and faces).
