PRIVATE SEYMOUR TARKEN was born in the spring of 1916 to Samuel and Goldie Tarken, in Pennsylvania. In 1920 the family lived at 2514 2nd Street it Philadelphia, where the father worked as a butcher. The Tarken family later moved to Camden NJ, and settled at 2365 Baird Boulevard.Seymour Tarken was drafted on May 19, 1941 in New Jersey. By February of 1942, he had been assigned to Fort Jackson SC, working with radios. He died at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri of causes not related to combat. He was survived by his parents and brother, Martin Tarken. |
