By 1939 Daniel J. Keating and his wife Alice owned and were operating a bar at 2000 River Road serving Schmidt's and Camden Beer on tap. This bar would be known as Keating's Tavern into the late 1960s. By the fall of 1970 the bar had changed hands, and was known as the Lin-Rick Tavern into at least the 1980s. The building now houses a grocery store, the G & N Supermarket.

At the intersection of N. 20th and River Road was Keating's Bar.  I can remember as a small boy from Pennsauken, going there with my Grandfather Frank McNichol and my Dad. It was truly the neighborhood tavern, such as "Cheers" of TV fame. Of course I had "Root Beer!"
