Jacob Merger's Cafe

Jacob Merger, of 1148 North 26th Street in Camden’s Cramer Hill section, was granted a renewal of a retail liquor license in June of 1939. While there is no record of a bar at that address when the previous Camden City Directory was published, in 1931, it should be noted that Prohibition was in effect, and many of the bars that were licensed after repeal were simply not in existence.

Jacob Merger’s bar at 1148 North 26th Street does not appear in the 1947 Camden City Directory, and he is not listed in Camden. The bar does not appear in the 1943 directory either.
