Introduction
Yeager’s Court ran for a half of a block, south from Joint Alley in South Camden. The street was not listed in Camden’s 1890–1891 Directory, but is listed in the 1906 edition. There were four houses on Yeager’s Court in 1947, but today all trace of Yeager’s Court are pretty much gone.
Three Women Nabbed Here on Vice Charges
Camden Courier-Post —
Two women were arrested as inmates of a disorderly house and a third as proprietor last night.
Viola Lewis, 45, of 807 Locust street, is the alleged proprietor. The alleged inmates are Cleo Chacker, 33, of 914 Yeager’s court, and Hattie Green, 40, of 312 Locust street. All are colored.
According to Patrolman James McTaggart, he was accosted by Hattie Green when he drove passed the Locust street address last night. Taken to police headquarters, McTaggart said, she made a statement to Sergeant John Garrity and Detective Clifford Carr which implicated the other women.
The Chacker woman was arrested at Third and Sycamore streets and the Lewis woman at her home, McTaggart said. They will receive a police court hearing today.
