Cushing Road

Camden Street

Introduction

Cushing Road, in the Fairview section of Camden, runs one block, from Republic Road to Hull Road, north of North Congress Road. The street does not appear in the 1947 City Directory. Two blocks of row homes were built there in 1954, as well as a block of six on Republic Road.

MRS. SUSANNA DEVOE

Mrs. Susanna Devoe, 87, died Thursday in her home, 2895 Cushing Road. She was a member of First Methodist Church, Collingswood.

Surviving are two sons, Winfield F. of Collingswood and H. Hubert of Gibbsboro; two daughters, Miss Mabel R. of Gibbsboro and Mrs. Mary I. Stone of Camden; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Foster’s Funeral Home, Haddon and Lees Avenues, Collingswood, where friends may call Sunday night. Burial will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Delaware Township.

Electrical problem suspected in fire — 2866 Cushing Road, November 25, 2002

CAMDEN — Fire badly damaged a Cushing Road home Sunday afternoon.

Investigators were still trying to determine the cause of the 4:40 p.m. blaze at 2866 Cushing Road, but it appeared an electrical problem may have been the culprit, fire officials said.

The residents were not home and no one was injured, authorities said.
