Biography
Private William T. Still was born in 1922 in Haddonfield, New Jersey, to Horace and Ruth Still. According to the 1930 Census, the family lived at 500 Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield. His father worked as a laborer for the local water company, and his mother did housework in private homes in the area. William was the third child. He was inducted into the United States Army on February 27, 1941.
Private William Still went overseas and saw duty in North Africa, France, and Germany. He went to North Africa in May 1942. He died in Germany on April 4, 1945, at the age of 23. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruth Still; brothers Horace Jr., Granville, Donald, Gilbert, Alvin, and Randolph; and sisters Mrs. Cleo Boyer, Mrs. Irene Jones, and Miss Evelyn Still. William Still was brought home to New Jersey in the fall of 1948 and was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery in Lawnside, New Jersey in December of that year.

Funeral services for Pvt. William T. Still will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the residence, 243 North Eleventh street, where friends may call tomorrow night. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery, Lawnside.
Military rites will be conducted by members of Battery C, 122 AAA, New Jersey National Guard.
Private Still, who was born in Haddonfield, was killed April 4, 1945, in Germany at the age of 23. He entered military service Feb. 27, 1941, and went to North Africa in May, 1942.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ruth Still; six brothers, Horace, Granville, Donald, Gilbert, Alvin and Randolph; and three sisters, Mrs. Cleo Boyer, Mrs. Irene Jones and Miss Evelyn Still, all of Camden.
