The 45th Infantry Division was inducted into federal service at Oklahoma City, OK, on February 16, 1940. It was composed of National Guard units from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The division assaulted Scoglitti, Sicily, on July 10, 1943; Salerno, Italy, on September 10, 1943; Anzio on January 22, 1944; and southern France on August 15, 1944. It entered Germany on March 17, 1945.
