Introduction
Technician 5th Class Walter E. Laskowski, son of Walter and Mary Laskowski of 1581 Louis Street, was born in Camden, January 17th, 1922. He was called to active military service as an Army Engineer in November of 1942. He was killed April 25th, 1945 during the last stages of the Philippine campaign.
Walter Laskowski was survived by his parents, two brothers, Leon and Thomas, and four sisters, Eleanore, Margaret, Betty, and Dorothy. He was brought home in September of 1948 aboard the USAT Sergeant Morris E. Crain. He was buried at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Gloucester Township NJ shortly thereafter.
