Walter Baker Cromwell Jr.
Sergeant Walter Baker Cromwell Jr. was born on July 7, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Cromwell of Lawnside, NJ. He graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1953 and was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 5 of Lawnside, NJ.
After serving with distinction in Vietnam, Sergeant Cromwell was posted to Butzbach, Germany in August of 1967. He died of a heart attack in Frankfurt, Germany on March 31, 1968. He was 32 years old.
He was survived by his wife, Valeria; his son, Walter Baker Cromwell III; his parents; a brother; and a sister. Sergeant Cromwell’s father passed away shortly afterwards, in September of 1968.

Services for S/Sgt. Walter B. Cromwell Jr., 32, who died of a heart attack March 31 in Frankfurt, Germany, will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, Warwick Road, Lawnside.
Friends may call tonight at the Carl Miller Funeral Home, 219 Warwick Road, Lawnside. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Pennsauken.
Sgt. Cromwell was a 1953 graduate of Haddon Heights High School and a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 5 of Lawnside.
He recently was given a commendation medal for heroism in Vietnam and had been stationed in Butzbach, Germany, since August, 1967.
Surviving are his wife, Valeria; a son, Walter Baker Cromwell 3rd; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cromwell Sr. of Lawnside; a brother and a sister.
