Introduction

Private Thomas H. Wright was born in Camden NJ on July 19, 1896. The youngest of at least six children, his father had died before he turned 14. When the census was taken in 1914, Thomas Wright lived with his mother, Mrs. Margaret Wright, and five older siblings at 204 Erie Street. By June 5, 1917 he had moved to 34 York Street. Thomas Wright was drafted on September 9, 1918.

Sent to Camp Humphreys VA, Private Wright was assigned to Company L, Engineer Training Regiment. He was at Camp Humphreys for four weeks and two days when he died of pneumonia on October 11, 1918.
