Private Ralph A. Baker — Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken, New Jersey
Private Ralph A. Baker was born on October 2, 1923 to Christian C. and Anna K. Baker. His father was a veteran of World War I. The Baker family lived on Lower Landing Road in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. Ralph Baker enlisted in the United States Army in 1941 and went overseas the following year.
Private Baker saw action in North Africa and in Italy. He died of causes not relating to combat while serving in Italy on January 12, 1945. He was 21 years old.
Survived by his parents and brothers William and Christian Baker Jr., Ralph Baker was brought home to New Jersey in the spring of 1949. He was buried at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken, New Jersey on June 11, 1949, where today he rests next to his parents.

Services for Pvt. Ralph A. Baker, son of Christian C. and the late Anna K. Baker, Lower Landing road, Blenheim, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Charles W. McCann funeral home, Church street, Blackwood, where friends may call tomorrow night. Military memorial services will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. by the Stetser Lamartine post, 281, American Legion, of Blenheim, with officers of Camden county and 40 and 8 Voiture 40 attending. The post also will provide a color guard for the burial in Arlington cemetery, Pennsauken.
Private Baker enlisted in the Army in 1941 and went overseas in 1942. He fought in the African and Italian campaigns and was killed Jan. 12, 1945, at the age of 27. Also surviving are two brothers, Christian Jr. and Robert Paul, of Camden.
