Biography
Paul W. Adams was born about 1898 in Pennsylvania, probably near Reading. He had three brothers — Clarence, Stanley, and Franklin — and a sister, Viola. Paul Adams enlisted in the Army around 1927. His brothers and sister all remained in the Reading area, where Clarence and Stanley worked in railroad repair shops. Paul Adams had married Alice B. Daley, and they had made their home at 924 Somerset Street in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
During the war years, Sergeant Adams had been stationed at the induction station in Camden, New Jersey. He was subsequently posted to Camp Meade, Maryland, where he died suddenly on October 18, 1945. His death was reported in the Camden Courier-Post on October 20, 1945.
Sergeant Adams was brought home to New Jersey, and after a funeral service in Gloucester City at Brown and Monmouth streets, he was buried at New Saint Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr, New Jersey on October 23, 1945. Sergeant Adams was survived by his wife Alice, brothers Clarence, Stanley, and Franklin, and sister Mrs. Viola Miller.

S/Sgt. Paul W. Adams, 47, of 924 Somerset street, Gloucester, died suddenly Thursday at Fort Meade, Md. He had been in the Army 18 years and formerly was stationed at the Camden induction station.
Surviving are his widow, Alice B.; three brothers, Clarence, Stanley and Franklin, and a sister, Mrs. Viola Miller, all of Reading. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., in a funeral home at Brown and Monmouth streets, Gloucester.
