Biography
Patrick Charles Harris was born in 1918, the son of Charles H. and Lydia Harris. He lived in Camden, Collingswood, and at 4508 Roosevelt Avenue in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Before entering the service, he was employed as a receiving clerk at the Sears-Roebuck Department Store at 1300 Admiral Wilson Boulevard in Camden.
Private Harris was inducted in October 1941 and initially sent to Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was later transferred to a camp near Savannah, Georgia. He took ill in Savannah approximately five weeks before his death and was removed to Stark General Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, where he died on June 3, 1942, at age 24. His body was brought home to New Jersey. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Christian M. Hansen, pastor of Parkside Lutheran Church. Burial was in New Camden Cemetery.
Patrick Charles Harris was survived by his father Charles H. Harris, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Boyer of Camden.

The funeral of Private Patrick Charles Harris, 24, formerly of Camden and Collingswood, who died Wednesday at the Stark General Hospital, Charleston, S. C., will be held at 2 p.m., Monday at 638 Penn street.
Private Harris was inducted into the service in October and went to Fort Dix. He later was transferred to a camp near Savannah, Ga. He was taken ill five weeks ago and removed to the Charleston hospital.
Before entering the service Private Harris was employed as a shipping clerk by the Sears, Roebuck store here. He was the son of Charles H. and the late Lydia Harris. He also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lydia Boyer, of Camden.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Christian M. Hansen, pastor of Parkside Lutheran church. Burial will be in New Camden cemetery.
