Biography
Oscar Lee Wrenn — Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium
Oscar Lee Wrenn was born in 1912 in North Carolina, the son of James Thomas “Jim” Wrenn and Louetta Oakley. He was one of a very large family of 14 brothers and sisters, ten of whom were from his father’s first wife, Sallie E. Tatum. Oscar Lee Wrenn worked as a machine operator and was married.
He was drafted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on April 7, 1944, and entered service through Camden County, New Jersey. He served as Private First Class with the 109th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on March 5, 1945, during preparations for the Division’s attack across the Ahr River in Belgium. He is buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.
