Michael Mignona
MICHAEL MIGNONA was born in Italy around 1886. He came to America at the age of 10, settling in Camden, where he learned the barber’s trade. For many years he operated his own barbershop at 20 South 4th Street. He made his home with his wife Margaret at 429 Stevens Street in South Camden.
On August 8, 1933 he signed up as a member of the N.R.A. (National Recovery Administration) program at the post office at 415 Market Street.
Michael Mignona was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of Loggia Vittorio Veneto of the Sons of Italy, and Societa Gambatesa, M.S.
Michael Mignona passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on August 28, 1954. Survived by his wife Margaret, ten children, two sisters, thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, he was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Delaware Township (present-day Cherry Hill) NJ.

The Knights of St. George, Branch 347, entertained on Sunday night in honor of Rico Mazzolo, member of the order recently returned from a tour of the United States.
Richard A. Troncone presided as toastmaster. Others who spoke were Rev. J. A. Monaco, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church; Rev. C. A. Cardelia, assistant to Father Monaco; Fred Scatasti, president of the organization; Matty Adinolfi, Michael Mignogna, Frank Mignogna, Carman Troncone and Frank Sioli.
Michael Mignogna Dies in Hospital

Michael Mignogna, 68, of 429 Stevens st., died Saturday after a short illness in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
A native of Cambatese in the Province of Cambabasa, Italy, Mr. Mignogna came to Camden when he was 10 years old. He conducted a barbershop at 20 S. 4th st.
An active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R. C. Church, Mr. Mignogna made a Holy Year pilgrimage to Rome recently and had planned, later this year, to make a Marian Year pilgrimage to Vatican City.
He was a member of Societa Cambatesa, M.S., and Loggia Vittoria Venito.
Surviving are his widow, Margaret; six daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Donovan, Mrs. Mary Galanti, Mrs. Eleanor Veronica. Mrs. Stella Biase and Miss Virginia Mignogna, all of Camden, and Mrs. Helen Spring, of Palmyra; four sons, Joseph, Cester, Albert and William, all of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Cirelli and Mrs. Anna Canzanese, both of Camden; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Solemn high requiem Mass will be sung Wednesday at 10:30 a. m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Relatives and friends will meet at 9:30 a. m. in the residence where friends may call Tuesday night. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, under the direction of Richard A. Troncone, Camden funeral director.
