Biography
Louis William Gahran Jr.
Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class Louis William Gahran Jr. was born on January 16, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. Gahran. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 following his graduation from Boston College High School in Boston, MA.
Louis Gahran qualified for naval flight duty and served as a gunner on a TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. He was killed on his twentieth birthday, January 16, 1945, on a mission to bomb Japanese shipping in the harbor at Hong Kong, China.
Louis Gahran was brought home after the war. He was buried at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa on January 7, 1950. Louis William Gahran Jr. was survived by his parents of 908 Park Avenue, Collingswood, NJ, and a sister, Mrs. J. P. Fenton Jr., of Collingswood.

Burial services were held Saturday at the U. S. National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa, for Louis W. Gahran Jr., AOM 2/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. Gahran, of 908 Park avenue, Collingswood.
He was a gunner on a torpedo bomber attached to the USS Hancock and was killed on a bombing mission over Hong Kong, China, on his twentieth birthday, Jan. 16, 1945. He enlisted in the navy in 1942 following his graduation from Boston College high school, Boston, Mass.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. J. P. Fenton Jr., of Collingswood.
