Seaman Second Class John Romanowski, U.S. Navy. He lived at 279 Liberty Street, Camden NJ.

Seaman Second Class John Romanowski was born on March 2, 1917. He lived with his wife Elizabeth and their sons John, Edward, Robert, and William at 279 Liberty Street in Camden NJ. On November 19, 1943, he passed his physical at the draft board and entered the Navy on December 10, 1943.

John Romanowski died aboard ship due to reasons not related to combat on September 16, 1944. He was survived by his wife and children, his mother, Sophie Lewandowski, of 35 Swarthmore Avenue, Gloucester Heights NJ, and sisters Mrs. Sophie Safryn of Camden and Mrs. Anna Gnojski of Gloucester Heights NJ. A Requiem Mass was held for him at the Resurrection of Christ Church, Mount Ephraim Avenue and Thurman Street, Camden NJ. His death was reported in the September 23, 1944 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.
