John J. Mitchell, Chief of the Camden County Park Police.
John J. Mitchell was a long-time resident of Camden, NJ. A member of the Camden County Park Police, he retired as Chief in 1996. After his retirement, he served in the Retired Chiefs Committee of the Camden County Police Chiefs Association.
John J. Mitchell passed away on April 12, 2004 at the age of 71.

MITCHELL, JOHN J.
Of Camden, NJ on April 12, 2004. Age 71. Mr. Mitchell was the retired Chief of the Camden County Park Police retiring in 1996. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joan; his son, John and his wife Tamara; 2 grand daughters, Tamara and Catherine; brother, Paul (Harriet) Mitchell; sister, Edna (Rosezell) Worlds; brother-in-law, Robert Patterson sister-in-law Beatrice Mitchell; goddaughter Paula Davis; godson Michael Worlds; a devoted friend John (Gigi) Agigigan, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his brother Albert and sister Jean.
Services Saturday, 11am at the Mt. Pisgah AME Church — Warwick and Mouldy Rds., Lawnside, NJ where friends may call after 9am. Interment: Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the John J. Mitchell Memorial Stained Glass Window Fund at Mt. Pisgah AME Church.
