John F. Healy
John F. Healy was born around 1900 at 922 Penn Street in Camden, NJ to Cornelius J. and Isabella Healy. After attending St. Mary’s Parochial School, he graduated from Camden Catholic High School, where he starred in baseball.
After graduating high school, John Healy worked at the pharmacy operated by Oscar Hinski at Haddon Avenue and Federal Street. He also worked for an auto dealership at the time of the 1920 census. John Healy moved to East Camden around 1925. In the mid 1920s he got a job with the City of Camden, and was named superintendent of New Camden Cemetery in 1927. He later went on to work for the Camden County Mosquito Control Commission, and, after seven years, was named Inventory Control Officer for Camden County in 1949. By then he was making his home, with wife Catherine, at 322 Fountain Avenue. An active member of St. Joseph’s Church on Federal Street in East Camden, he was involved in many church activities. He was also a member of the East End Republican Club.
John Healy took ill late in 1949, passing away on April 19, 1950. He was survived by his wife, and his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Healy, of the Penn Street address. After funeral services at the Leonard Funeral Home at 2850 Federal Street, he was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Delaware Township (present-day Cherry Hill) NJ. Catherine Healy remained at the home on Fountain Avenue well into the 1960s, passing away in December of 1969.

John F. Healy, 49, Camden county inventory control officer, died early today after an illness of several months. He lived at 329 Fountain avenue.
As inventory control officer, Mr. Healy was in charge of checking on all property owned by the county. Prior to being named to the post in 1949, Mr. Healy was an inspector for the mosquito control department for seven years.
A native of Camden, he was born at 922 Penn street, where his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Healy, still resides. Mr. Healy moved to the Twelfth ward 25 years ago and resided there since.
He attended St. Mary’s parochial school and was graduated from Camden Catholic High school where he starred in baseball.
After being graduated from high school, he was employed in a drug store operated for many years at Haddon avenue and Federal street by Oscar Hinski.
Mr. Healy then became a salesman for a drug firm and later was employed by the Norwich Pharmaceutical Co. He then was employed by Camden city and was named superintendent of New Camden cemetery in 1927.
Mr. Healy was a member of the parish of St. Joseph’s R. C. Church, Twenty-ninth street and Westfield avenue. He also was a member of St. Joseph’s Holy Name Society and St. Joseph’s Athletic club. He was an active member of the Camden Catholic High School Father’s club, which played an important role in fostering athletics at the school.
Mr. Healy also was a member of the New Jersey Civil Service Council and the East End Republican League.
Besides his mother, Mr. Healy is survived by his widow, the former Catherine Wolfinger.
Final Rites Saturday For John F. Healy

Solemn Requiem Mass for John F. Healy, 49, Camden county inventory control officer, will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a. m. in St. Joseph’s R. C. Church, Twenty-ninth street and Westfield avenue.
Friends will meet at 8 a. m. in a funeral home at 2850 Federal street, where they may call Friday after 7 p. m. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Healy, who lived at 321 Fountain avenue, died Wednesday after an illness of several months. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Healy, and his widow, the former Catherine Wolfinger.
