John Bell Larzelere
Staff Sergeant John Bell Larzelere was born in 1918 to Charles W. and Goldie Larzelere. His father was a clerk at a leather works, and in 1920 and 1930 the family owned a home at 1204 Elm Street in Haddon Township, NJ. Known to family as Jack, he was a 1936 graduate of Collingswood, NJ, High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps approximately four years before his death and was stationed at Hickam Field, Honolulu, Hawaii.
John Bell Larzelere was killed in a motorcycle accident on the night of August 5, 1941. To avoid hitting a pedestrian, he turned his motorcycle into a curb, was thrown, and died at the Honolulu Emergency Hospital. Services were held for him on August 14, 1941, at the Wheeler Field Chapel, in Hawaii, with Chaplain Alvin A. Katt in charge of the services. He was later buried at Colestown Cemetery, Collingswood, NJ.
John Bell Larzelere was survived by his parents, a brother Charles W. Larzelere Jr. of Norfolk, VA, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth L. Kelly of Audubon, NJ.

Funeral Wednesday For Sgt. Larzelere
Word has been received here of the death of John B. Larzelere, 23, Collingswood High School graduate and staff sergeant attached to the 22nd Material Squadron, U.S. Air Corps, at Hickam Field, Honolulu.
Sergeant Larzelere died last August 5 after a long illness at the Honolulu Emergency Hospital. He enlisted in the Army four years ago. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Larzelere; a brother, Charles, Jr., of Norfolk, Va., and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth L. Kelly, of Audubon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the home of his parents, 1204 Elm avenue, Haddon township. Burial will be in Colestown Cemetery.
