Biography
Private Herman Roger Storm was born about 1923. He grew up at 6722 Irving Avenue in Pennsauken NJ, and was a 1940 graduate of Merchantville (NJ) High School. His father was Herman G. Storm, a department store manager. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 22, 1942. He was sent overseas in June of that year.
Assigned to an aviation ordnance unit, he died of injuries received when a bomb accidentally exploded in North Africa on June 26, 1943. Private Frank Allen of Pennsville NJ was killed in the same accident. He was survived by his parents, and a younger brother, Bishop Storm, who was serving with an engineer aviation battalion. His death was reported in the July 28, 1943 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.
Private Storm was brought home to New Jersey in the early part of 1949. He was buried at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson NJ on February 19, 1949.

Services for Pvt. Herman R. Storm will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home at 33 West Maple avenue, Merchantville. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial park.
Private Storm died June 26, 1943, in North Africa, of injuries suffered at an army air base. He was 20 and enlisted in the army in January, 1942, and went overseas in June, of the same year. A graduate of the Merchantville High school, class of 1940, he resided with his parents at 6722 Irving avenue, Pennsauken. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Merchantville. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman G. Storm, and a brother, Bishop W.
