Introduction
Staff Sergeant Harry J. Samuels was born February 11, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. James D. Samuels. He lived in Clementon, NJ, and had attended Haddon Heights (NJ) High School and the Camden County Vocational and Technical School. Inducted into the Army in January of 1941, he served with the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. He had seen action in North Africa and Italy before his unit landed in France in June of 1944.
Staff Sergeant Harry Samuels was severely wounded in France on July 12, 1944. He died as a result of these wounds on July 19, 1944. After the war, his body was brought home, and he was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, NJ, on November 5, 1948.
