Biography
Private First Class Harry J. Mulch Jr. of Audubon, New Jersey.
Private First Class Harry J. Mulch Jr. was born in 1925, the son of Harry J. Mulch Sr. and Mary Mulch of 204 Carlisle Road, Audubon, New Jersey. He was a graduate of St. Rose School in Haddon Heights and was graduated from Camden Catholic High School on June 11, 1944. He entered the Army on June 24, 1944, and trained at Camp Wheeler, Georgia. He went overseas on January 5, 1945, assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division, the storied “Rainbow” Division.
Private First Class Mulch was killed in action on April 11, 1945, while on duty in Heimbach, Germany. He was 19 years old. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart posthumously. He was initially buried in Europe and was brought home for burial with full military honors at New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr, New Jersey.

Military rites by the Audubon American Legion post will be held Sunday night for Pfc. Harry J. Mulch Jr., at 204 Carlisle road, Audubon. He was 19.
Solemn requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Haddon Heights. Burial will be in New St. Mary’s cemetery.
Private Mulch was killed April 11, 1945, while on duty in Heimbach, Germany, with the Forty-second “Rainbow” Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart posthumously.
A graduate of the St. Rose School, Haddon Heights, he was graduated from Camden Catholic High school on June 11, 1944.
He is survived by his parents, Harry J. Sr., and Mary Mulch.
