Harry J. Horrocks
Private Harry J. Horrocks was born in Camden NJ to John N. and Hallie Horrocks on March 1, 1922. His father worked as a printer. By 1930 the family had moved to Mantua Township NJ, where they lived on Barnsboro-Pitman Road. Harry Horrocks graduated from Pitman High School in Pitman NJ in 1939. He enlisted in the United States Army on November 30, 1942.
Private Harry Horrocks was killed in action in France on October 19, 1944.
Harry Horrocks was brought home to New Jersey in 1948. He was buried at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden NJ on December 18th of that year. He was survived by his parents, who by then had moved to Mississippi, and his brother Lieutenant John N. Horrocks Jr., United States Navy.

FUNERAL ARRANGED FOR PVT. HORROCKS
Services for Pvt. Harry J. Horrocks, formerly of Pitman, will be held 11 a.m. tomorrow in Foster’s funeral home, Haddon and Lees avenues, Collingswood. Burial will be in Harleigh cemetery. Private Horrocks was born in Camden, graduated from Pitman High school in 1939, entered the army Nov. 30, 1942, and was killed in action Oct. 19, 1944, in France. Surviving are his parents, Hallie S. and John N., both of Mississippi, and a brother, Lt. John N. Jr., in the navy.
