Frederick Gehrig

Gunner’s Mate Third Class Frederick Gehrig, 24, of 16 South Harley Avenue, Gloucester City, New Jersey, was killed when his vessel engaged the enemy in the South Pacific. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Gehrig, and a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1936. Frederick Gehrig enlisted in the Navy on November 23, 1940. He had last written his parents on November 1, 1942. His death was reported in the Camden Courier-Post on Tuesday, January 5, 1943.
