Introduction
Frank Wisniewski was born in Poland in 1882. He came to America in 1899, and to Camden NJ in 1901. By 1913 he was operating a tavern at 1068 Haddon Avenue in Camden. During Prohibition he was in the wholesale soft drink business. After Prohibition was repealed Frank Wisniewski opened Frank’s Cafe at 1039 Haddon Avenue, which he owned and operated until his death on August 10, 1949. The Wisniewski family also operated a tavern at 2277 South 7th Street, in South Camden.
Frank Wisniewski was survived by his wife, Helen, sons Joseph and Dr. Henry Wisniewski, a dentist and then a member of the Camden Board of Education; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Rychert, Miss Jean Wisniewski, and Mrs. Dorothy Wojciechowski; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Szepankiewicz and Mrs. Anna Grabowski, and eight grandchildren.
Frank Wisniewski was very active in civic affairs. His family is still involved in civic affairs in Camden County to this day.

Frank Wisniewski, 67, 1039 Haddon avenue, a well known tavern owner in Camden for the past 36 years, died yesterday in West Jersey hospital after an illness of several months. A native of Poland, he had been a resident of Camden for 48 years. He was president and a director of the Kosciuszko Building and Loan association for the past 25 years, a member of the Polish National Alliance, 2465, Freightail Boaejety No. and the National Slovak Society, Assembly 357.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Helen Wisniewski; two sons, Dr. Henry Wisniewski, who is a member of the city board of education, and Joseph Wisniewski, Stratford; three daughters, Miss Jean, Mrs. Laura Rychert and Mrs. Dorothy Wojciechowski, all of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Szezepankiewicz, Camden, and Mrs. Anna Grabowski of West Collingswood, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held in the home Saturday at 8 a. m. with solemn requiem high Mass at St. Joseph’s R. C. Church, Tenth and Mechanic streets at 9. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery at Lawnside.
Friends may call at the home tomorrow evening and also Saturday morning.
