Private First Class Frank Lilley, age 28, lived at 635 Cedar Street, Camden, NJ. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lilley of Camden. He had three brothers, PFC Arthur Lilley and PFC Albert Lilley, both holders of the Purple Heart Medal and both serving overseas, and Pvt. George Lilley, stationed at Camp Blanding, GA. A sister, Ann Dorothy, lived at home. All four sons were employed by the J.B. VanSciver Company before entering service.
Frank Lilley entered the Army on November 10, 1942, and served three years, including 27 months overseas. He served with the Fifth Army in North Africa, Sicily, Rome, the Anzio Beachhead, Cassino, and Naples.
Private First Class Frank Lilley was killed instantly by shrapnel during an enemy artillery barrage on April 10, 1945, in Germany, while serving with Company B, 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division. He is buried at Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130, Cinnaminson, NJ.

Services for Pfc. Frank Lilley, of 635 Cedar street, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the residence, where friends may call Sunday night. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial park under direction of William M. Denoff.
Pfc. Lilley entered the service Nov. 10, 1942, and was killed in action April 16, 1945, in Germany while serving with the Co. B., 324th Infantry, 44th Division. He was 25. His service also included action with the Fifth Army in North Africa, Sicily, Rome, Anzio Beachhead, Cassino and Naples, and he had been awarded the Purple Heart.
A native of Camden, Pfc. Lilley is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lilley; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Turner and Mrs. Anna Evans, both Camden; and three brothers, Arthur Jr., George and Albert, all of whom served in the army.
