Technician Fifth Class Frank L. Dickinson was born July 18, 1925 to Rhea and Leroy Dickinson of 214 South Boulevard, Gloucester City, New Jersey. He had graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1942 and had worked in the editorial department of the Camden Courier-Post. He was inducted into the Army in 1944 and went overseas in January of 1945, as a member of an Ordnance Bomb Disposal Squad. In a letter home he wrote that he had been through Belgium and Holland before coming to France, where he was killed on February 27, 1945, when the truck he was riding in struck a rut in the road near Thronville, France. He was survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dickinson, and a sister, Edith. After the war, Frank Dickinson was brought home and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
