Sergeant Frank J. Pollick was born in Westmont, NJ around 1924. He was raised by his aunt, Mrs. Madeline Andrews, from childhood, at 328 Bergen Street in Gloucester City, NJ. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School in Gloucester City and of Camden County Vocational School in Pennsauken, NJ.
Frank Pollick enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1941 and served with the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was discharged from the Army in October of 1945 and re-enlisted the following October. Sergeant Pollick was serving with the Signal Corps on occupation duty in Japan when he died in Yokohama on January 12, 1948. His aunt requested that his remains be sent home for burial.
Besides his aunt, Frank Pollick was survived by a sister, Madeleine, who in 2004 still held dear the memory of her brother as Madeleine M. Agnew.

Word of the death of Sgt. Frank J. Pollick, Signal Corps, on Jan. 12, in Yokohama, Japan, has been received by his aunt, Mrs. Madeline Andrews, 328 Bergen street, Gloucester.
The adjutant general’s office said it had not yet been informed of the cause of death.
Sergeant Pollick, who was 25, was born in Westmont but had lived with his aunt since childhood. He enlisted in February, 1941, and served with the First Division, 18th Infantry. Discharged in October, 1945, he reenlisted the following October. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial school, Gloucester, and Camden Vocational school. Mrs. Andrews has requested the body be sent home for burial.
