Introduction

Staff Sergeant Frank Joseph Kohlmyer was born on May 31, 1930. His early years were spent in Camden. His home of record is Pennsauken, NJ.

Having previously served in the Air Force overseas during the Korean War, Staff Sergeant Kohlmyer was sent to Vietnam. His tour of duty began on April 6, 1970, when he was 39 years old.

On February 18, 1971, at the age of 40, Kohlmyer died from an accident while handling ordnance sustained during a non-hostile ground attack in South Vietnam.

He is memorialized on Panel 5W, Line 117 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
