Private First Class Frank Brigandi was born in 1925 in New Jersey to James and Mary Brigandi. He was one of at least six children. The 1930 Federal Census shows the Brigandi family on Hay Road in Winslow Township, where James Sr. was a farmer. Frank Brigandi left high school after his third year. He was working at a commercial laundry when drafted into the Army at Camden, NJ, on July 24, 1943. He reported for active duty at Fort Dix on August 14, 1943. Private First Class Frank Brigandi was killed in action in Germany on March 16, 1945, when his unit was in action expanding the Remagen bridgehead. His body was brought back to the United States after the war.
