Introduction
Francis K. “Skip” Stinger was born in Woodbury, NJ. With 22 other fire fighters he joined the Camden Fire Department on December 16, 1974.
Skip Stinger’s 25 year career with the Camden Fire Department saw him promoted to Captain on September 18, 1981; to Battalion Chief on February 18, 1985; to Deputy Chief on September 26, 1989 to replace retiring Deputy Chief Jim McMasters. Skip Stinger served as a Deputy Chief until his retirement on December 31, 1999. During his time with the department and since he has maintained a keen interest in the history and traditions of the Camden Fire Department.
Since leaving the Fire Department, Skip Stinger has worked selling KME fire apparatus for First Priority Emergency Vehicles in Manchester, New Jersey.
