Introduction
Floyd Kiersted Bryant was the son of Horace and Sadie Bryant of Lawnside NJ. Born in New Jersey in 1912, he came after brothers Horace Jr. and Granville, and before brother Rutledge, sister Anne, and fraternal twins Edith and Elwood Bryant. His father worked as a carpenter. Before entering the Army on September 29, 1942, Floyd Bryant worked as a schoolteacher in Lawnside. He remained in the Army after World War II, served during the Korean War, and was still on active duty when he died of a heart attack while on leave on October 26, 1957. He is memorialized on the Lawnside NJ War Memorial.
